How to Deal with Bad Customer Interactions
Some customers can become upset if they are refused products. The following strategies can be useful when dealing with upset customers.
- Always keep calm.
- Inform customer that it is the store’s policy to not sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21.
- Politely explain to the customer that it is against the law for anyone under the age of 21 to purchase tobacco products.
- A customer must have a valid form of ID to purchase tobacco products. Tattoos, piercings, or facial hair are not valid forms of ID.
- Ask your manager or coworkers for support.
